Berlex Biopharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Schering AG Germany, hired Allen & Company, LLC in 2004 to assist them in the site selection and acquisition of land for Washington State's largest new biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The effort resulted in the acquisition of approximately 16 acres of land in the Opus Northpointe Corporate Center, located 17 miles north of Seattle in Lynnwood, Washington. The Berlex site is a $60 million complex which includes two manufacturing buildings, a power generation plant and an administration building. The facility now operates under the banner of Bayer Health Care.

In 2006, Allen & Company, LLC purchased 168 acres of surplus land from FTGA Timberlands, LLC (a Hancock Timber affiliate). The property affords outstanding valley, river, and mountain views, and is conveniently located in the Upper Snoqualmie Valley approximately 35miles east of Seattle, Washington. It is also adjacent to the 90,000 acre Snoqualmie Tree Farm, timber production for which has been preserved into perpetuity.

Allen & Company, LLC determined that the most prudent approach was to subdivide the property into 40 and 50-acre parcels and sell these estate-size homesites to individuals. The project was a great success with all home sites marketed, put under contract and closed within 120 days of acquisition.
